PUTZ CONSTRUCTION: NOVEMBER 26, 2006
Moss Gathering Sunday is the day when the congregation goes out and gathers moss for another Moravian tradition, the Christmas Putz. The Putz is a stationary model of the Christmas story which is told in voice and music. If you have never experienced the power and beauty of a Moravian Christmas Putz, we invite you to experience it this year.

CANDLE TRIMMING: OCTOBER 14, 2006
We trimmed our beeswax Christmas candles on October 14th. Yes, we trimmed our candles for Christmas in October so we are prepared when the 24th comes around. It was a wonderful evening, filled with a whole lot of wonderful food and fellowship. The covered dish started at 5 pm. We started trimming candles around 6 pm and were finished by 7 pm; the many hands of volunteers making the work light.
The trimming of candles is a Moravian tradition for the Christmas Eve Candlelight services; every Moravian church has a different variation of the candles and the service. When you attend a Moravian Church Christmas Eve service, they will all be different and unique, but having the candles during the service is always a key part.
